Recent Wins
Affordable Housing Trust Fund:
In 2023, we pushed Unified Government Commissioners to create Wyandotte County’s first-ever Affordable Housing Trust Fund. By May 2025, that fund has grown to over $400,000—and now we've secured commitments from three commissioners to invest $2 million annually, dramatically expanding affordable housing.
Permanent Homeless Shelter:
Wyandotte County urgently needs a permanent shelter for our unhoused neighbors. In 2025, we secured firm commitments from local officials to construct a safe and accessible shelter, ensuring dignity and safety for everyone in need.
Ending Chronic Homelessness:
We rallied support and secured commitments to implement the proven Built for Zero model, putting Wyandotte County firmly on track to end chronic homelessness by 2030.

Advocacy for the Unhoused
Seeing the gap in elder support, we pushed local officials and regional leaders to act. Our advocacy helped Wyandotte County achieve Bronze Level Recognition in 2024 for assessing age-friendly practices. We're now urging them forward to Gold Level Recognition in 2025, which requires real policy changes to support aging in place.
Elder Care
With homicide the leading cause of death among our youth, we successfully championed Community Violence Intervention strategies. Now, we actively partner with ThrYve to:
